Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has gone the extra mile to show his support for the Rugby Young Carers Project by taking part in the 5k ‘Ready, Steady Fun Run’ organized by the Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club.
The Rugby Young Carers Project works with children and young people between the ages of 16 and 18 who take responsibility for the care of a family member who is ill, has a disability, is experiencing mental distress or is affected by substance use or HIV/AIDS.
Mark said:
"I was delighted to take part in, and finish, the 5k fun run last weekend which was organized in support of the Rugby Young Carers Project. I thoroughly enjoyed the run where nurses were supporting one another and was pleased to finish, in what was for me, a reasonable time.”
Mark concluded:
“Young carers play a huge role in supporting members of client’s families. The Young Carers Project carries out invaluable work within our local communities here in Rugby and I was more than happy to do my bit to show just how much all those involved with Rugby Young Carers are appreciated.”
