Local MP Mark Pawsey joined residents, relatives, staff and members of the public at Drovers House last Friday to celebrate National Care Home Open Day.
The care home celebrated the annual event by holding a Caribbean themed party between 12 noon and 4pm with authentic Caribbean food provided by Rugby-based caterers Nyam A Foodz.
Speaking during the visit Mark said:
“Care Home Open Day is great way for people to learn more about care homes. Many people have fears about residential care homes which are not based on experience. Days like this help demystify care and allay those fears.”
Mark continued:
“Rugby has many fantastic care homes, and an army of dedicated carers, and this annual event is a real opportunity for people to see first-hand what our care homes have to offer.”
Mark concluded:
“I would like to thank the residents and staff at Drovers House for such a warm welcome and Trevor of local Rugby caterers Nyam A Foodz who provided us all with some incredible authentic Caribbean food. It was a real treat!”
Care Home Open Day has proven to be a great success over recent years and the event is growing year-on-year with more care homes signing up to take part.
