Last week Rugby MP Mark Pawsey met with local representatives of the newly formed Bangladeshi Cultural Association. Formed this summer, The Bangladeshi Cultural Association, is an active and growing organisation in the local area, who are looking to share and raise awareness of Bangladeshi culture and heritage in the local area.
Speaking after the meeting Mark said:
“As many of us are aware, Rugby has a very established Bangladeshi community, which can most notably be seen by the many popular Bangladeshi Restaurants in the local area so it was great to meet with local representatives of this newly formed organisation.”
Mark continued:
“It is fantastic that an organisation such as the Bangladeshi Cultural Association has formed to enable the Bangladeshi community in Rugby to be able to share their heritage and culture with the wider Rugby community.”
Mark concluded:
“The Bangladeshi community are looking forward to holding their upcoming celebrations for Victory Day on the 16th December, which commemorates their independence from Pakistan. I look forward to them celebrating this rich and colourful festival in the near future.”
