Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Rugby and Bulkington Mark Pawsey has welcomed new figures showing 1,192 fewer people in Rugby and Bulkington claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance and Universal Credit compared to 2010 - a 56 per cent drop. This means more people in work, with the security of a good job and a regular pay packet so they can provide for themselves and their families.
People are getting off benefits and into work across the West Midlands with 116,000 more people in work since the last election.
But all this is at risk if Ed Miliband gets into Downing Street, propped up by the SNP. As Labour are facing a wipeout in Scotland, they will have to rely on the SNP for support. With Nicola Sturgeon calling the shots, we would suffer here in Rugby and Bulkington. They would hike up borrowing, hit pay packets, and cost us jobs.
That’s why it’s so important to vote for Conservative here on 7 May and secure a brighter future for our area. We just can’t afford to risk it with Labour and the SNP.
Mark Pawsey said:
‘It’s excellent news that 1,192 fewer people are relying on Jobseeker’s Allowance and Universal Credit in Rugby & Bulkington – that’s more local families with the stability and security of a regular pay packet.”
Mark added:
“This is thanks to the hard work and the determination of people here in Rugby & Bulkington, and the Conservatives’ strong leadership and clear economic plan.”
Mark concluded:
“This would all be put at risk with the chaos of a Miliband-SNP Government, hiking borrowing, hurting the economy, and costing jobs – and it’ll be hardworking people in Rugby & Bulkington who’ll pay. That’s why you have to vote Conservative here to get a brighter, more secure future for our community."
