Leading housebuilder Barratt Homes recently welcomed Member of Parliament for Rugby, Mark Pawsey MP, for a development tour with its award-winning team in Warwickshire.
The leading homebuilder invited the constituency MP to visit its Elborough Place development on Ashlawn Road and go behind the scenes alongside Managing Director, Adrian Evans, and Site Manager, Guy Field. Guy was awarded a Pride in the Job Quality award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for his work on the development and the high standards set.
The new development is also set to bring a total of over £11 million of investment as part of the planning agreement. It will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents in and around the town. This includes £5.5 million for education, over £1.1 million for indoor and outdoor sports facilities, more than £1.4 million towards transport provision and over £770,000 to protect and enhance green and open spaces.
During the visit Mark was shown some of the properties currently under construction by Guy and his team and the excellent standard of work already taking place, including completed footpaths around the development and high-quality new homes. Accolades such as the Pride in the Job awards rate Site Managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role Site Managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards and it is clear from the work taking place at Elborough Place why Guy has previously been awarded this accolade.
After visiting Elborough Place, Mark commented:
“Delivering the homes that the next generation need is vital and so I was very interested to see the progress at this new development. It’s vital that new homes in Rugby are built to high standards and are fit for the future, and I was particularly interested to talk with Adrian and Guy about the way in which homebuyers are prioritising energy efficiency and sustainability when considering where to purchase a house. This is something is increasingly being recognised both by developers and by the planning system.”
Adrian Evans said:
“We were delighted to welcome Mark onto the site to discuss the success of our Elborough Place development and the investment being made in the community. It was great to provide the opportunity to view the ongoing works and introduce him to Guy, one of our award-winning Site Managers.”
