Litter pickers from Rugby’s McDonald’s restaurants were joined by local MP, Mark Pawsey, as part of the “Love Where You Live” campaign, which encourages people to take pride in their local community by clearing litter, removing graffiti and planting trees to help spruce up an area.
Mark said: “I take a great pride in Rugby’s local environment and like everyone else, I hate to see litter in our town, but unfortunately it’s out there and that is why I was eager to join the staff of town’s McDonalds restaurants at their community litter pick recently, which took place along the riverbank, close to the housing estate on Projects Drive.”
“Love Where You Live campaign is all about taking control and doing your bit by focusing on where we can all make a difference - identifying the small things that matter without forgetting the bigger picture. From my time with the team from McDonalds, it was quite clear that they were determined to make a difference to their local community and that's exactly what they’ve done.
“McDonald’s is a founding partner of the ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign and I would encourage everyone to play their part in keeping this fantastic campaign, which they can online by visiting www.lovewhereyoulive.org”
