Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has reacted to the latest crime figures from the independent Office for National Statistics by praising Warwickshire’s police force. The figures show that recorded crime in Warwickshire fell by 13% in the year to March 2013.
Speaking on the news, Mark said:
“Officers in Rugby and across Warwickshire have clearly risen to the challenge in the fight against crime. Local people in Rugby can be proud of the hard work that the police do to keep our communities safe”.
Mark continued:
“Police reform is working and crime is falling. The Government has slashed red tape and scrapped targets so that the police can concentrate on fighting crime”.
Mark concluded:
“Warwickshire has seen one of the highest reductions in crime in the country over the last year. This is thanks to the Government’s police reforms, but it is also thanks to thousands of police officers and their chief constables who are proving you can cut crime even as you cut spending”.
