Rugby MP Mark Pawsey welcomed 9yr old Rugby school boy Freddie Cannell and his parents to Parliament last week to help publicise Freddie’s 100km trek across the Sahara next year to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Freddie’s family contacted Mark earlier in the year and Mark was keen to help make people aware of Freddie’s trek and fundraising efforts.
Last week Freddie, his parents, and a Guide Dog named Pippin who the family have been help train, all took a trip to Parliament to meet Mark and have a tour of the Palace of Westminster.
Mark said:
“What Freddie is doing is quite incredible and I was pleased to welcome him and his family to Parliament. Freddie is clearly very interested in politics and I know he thoroughly enjoyed his tour of the Palace of Westminster.”
Mark continued:
“Having spent time with Guide Dogs for the Blind, including a blindfolded walk around Rugby with a Guide Dog, I understand just how valuable the work they do is and how much Freddie’s fundraising will be appreciated and welcomed.”
Mark concluded:
“I would urge people to visit Freddie’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/freddiestrek to learn more about how to sponsor his Saharan Trek.”
