On Monday 25th February. Rugby MP Mark Pawsey welcomed Rugby’s Mayor, Councillor Kathryn Lawrence, and her nephew, Charles Lawrence, to Parliament. Mark had organised for the Mayor to tour both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Commenting after her visit, the Mayor said:
“Both myself and my nephew are very grateful to Mark for organising a tour of Parliament for us. We managed to see the new US Secretary of State John Kerry and we were also given gallery tickets to watch proceedings in the House of Commons. We found the whole visit very informative”.
On the Mayor’s visit, Mark said:
“I was delighted to welcome Councillor Kathryn Lawrence as Mayor to Parliament today”.
Mark concluded:
“I am very pleased that the Mayor and her nephew were able to visit Westminster and see how Parliament works. The Mayor was able to see Parliament in session and witness a lively debate in the Chamber. I am sure that the day will have been both instructive and valuable”.
