The Adjudicator will enforce a new statutory code to protect publicans from abuses by pub companies on a number of issues including rents and the price of beer.
On the move, Mark said:
“I know that times are hard for publicans here in Rugby. I recently spoke in a debate in Parliament to highlight the issues faced by publicans and micro-breweries so I welcome this move from the Government. Pubs are so important to our local community and we need to make sure publicans are treated fairly”.
Mark concluded:
“It is clear that the self regulation of the pub industry has failed and it is right that Conservatives in Government are doing what they can to protect publicans from abusive rents and prices”.
