Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has given a warm welcome to news that recorded crime in Warwickshire has fallen over the last twelve months. Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that recorded crime in Warwickshire fell by eight percent.
Mark said:
“The news that crime is falling in Warwickshire will, I am sure, be warmly welcomed by local people here in Rugby. Our hardworking police officers in Rugby and Warwickshire can be proud of their success”.
Mark continued:
“This Government is reforming the police so they can cut crime and make our communities safer. I believe that crime falling by 8% here in Warwickshire shows these reforms are working”.
Mark concluded:
“Whilst I am sure no one from the police force or Government will rest on their laurels with this news, the fall in crime experienced for the past year, coupled with an Independent Crime Survey showing crime at its lowest level since records began, shows that level of crime in our country is going in the right direction”.
