Mark Pawsey MP met with representatives of Guide Dogs for the Blind today to discuss local issues affecting blind and partially sighted people.
Following the meeting he walked under blindfold with a Guide Dog through the streets of Rugby, accompanied by a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, giving him some indication as to what it's like to be blind or partially sighted.
Mark said: 'It was an interesting experience and one that I will never forget. I became very aware of how important sound, smells and surfaces are to anyone without sight, or with limited sight. Guide Dog 'Lara' looked after me very well and I have gained a good understanding of the importance of these companions to those with difficulty in seeing.'
