Rugby and Bulkington MP Mark Pawsey attended the ‘Ground Breaking Ceremony’ at The London Taxi Company’s new home in Ansty Business Park to mark the start of the construction works. The London Taxi Company are building a brand new state of the art research, development and assembly facility at Ansty Business Park.
After the event Mark said:
“I am proud that The London Taxi Company have chosen to build their new home here in my constituency. The London Taxi Company are investing £250 million in the construction of a new state of the art research, development and assembly facility, which will be environmentally-friendly due to a number of highly sustainable features. I am delighted that this investment will create 1,000 new jobs at the site and 500 more through the supply chain, in addition to securing those already working for the company.”
Mark continued:
“The company are preparing to produce the next generation of ultra-low emission vehicles in Ansty. Investment of this nature in advanced manufacturing and ultra-low emission vehicle technology is exactly the type of activity we need to encourage and support. This is a fantastic addition to our resurgent automotive industry, and further demonstrates The London Taxi Company’s ongoing contribution to the local economy.
Mark concluded:
“I am very pleased to see that in recent years the automotive manufacturing industry in the UK has grown from strength to strength. This new state of the art research, development and assembly site is a perfect example of this Government’s ambition to support and reinvigorate manufacturing both here in the West Midlands and nationally.”
