On Wednesday 16th January, in front of a packed House of Commons, Rugby MP Mark Pawsey asked the Prime Minister, during Prime Minister’s Questions, to visit Rugby to see the positive approach Rugby Borough Council takes to new development. The Prime Minister agreed with Mark that building new homes is crucial to both satisfying the housing needs of future generations as well as boosting the economy.
Speaking after his question, Mark said:
“I was delighted to be able to highlight Rugby Borough Council’s positive attitude towards new development in front of so many MPs here today. The Council is doing the right thing in pushing through new development as that can only benefit new generations in Rugby and our local economy”.
Mark continued:
“It was good to hear the Prime Minister agreeing with me that we need to build more homes in our country. Recent developments at Eden Park and the old BT Mast Site will provide around 8,000 new homes between them which is great news for Rugby and our surrounding areas”.
Mark concluded:
“I am very glad the Prime Minister agreed to my offer of visiting Rugby in the near future. I look forward to welcoming him to see at first-hand how Rugby’s approach can be of benefit to other parts of the country”.
