Mark Pawsey, MP for Rugby, is calling on start-up businesses and entrepreneurs across the UK to get involved in this year’s Conservative Party ‘Start-up Hub’ and win the opportunity to showcase their work in front of thousands of visitors at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester. At last year’s event, one business started working with the UN and the opportunity is open to new businesses again this year.
Launched for the first time two years ago, the national competition is a chance for 12 new businesses to demonstrate their ideas or designs during the four day conference running from Sunday September 29th to Wednesday October 2nd.
Speaking about the competition, Mark said:
“As someone who started and ran my own business for 25 years before becoming an MP I appreciate the challenges of getting started and running a business. I wholeheartedly welcome any scheme that makes it easier to promote starting your own company”.
Mark continued:
“This is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs here in Rugby and I would encourage anyone with a new idea to enter for a chance to show off their work. The conference is attended by thousands of delegates, the nation’s media and business leaders from across the country which will give lots of opportunity to influence decision makers.”
Mark concluded:
“Last year one company, off the back of exhibiting at the conference, has started working with the UN. It would be fantastic if that sort of opportunity was given to a new business here in Rugby. Sign up!”
