In September Rugby and Bulkington MP Mark Pawsey wrote to the Heads of all Primary Schools in his Constituency inviting pupils to enter a competition to design his Christmas card for 2014.
Having received more entries than ever this year, Mark had a tough decision in choosing a winner. Mark and his family settled on a colourful design by Megan Morris who is ten years old and attends Binley Woods Primary School.
Megan’s prize is a visit to Westminster, where she and her family will be treated to a tour of the Houses of Parliament and ‘Tea on the Terrace’. The card with Megans’ design will be printed and sent out to a variety of local organisations during December.
Mark said:
“I was really impressed with the amount of entries I received this year. They were all fantastic which made it a very difficult to make a decision. I’ve written to all of the Schools who took part and sent a small prize to the children who entered.”
The two runners-up were selected as Georgia Lawson who is eleven and a pupil at The Revel Primary School, and Owen Harris aged 10 of Binley Woods Primary School.”
All of the entries are now being displayed at Rugby Library.
