Pramac-Generac recently acquired Rugby business Off Grid Energy & Mark Pawsey MP has invited a government minister to see their work in energy storage solutions
An innovative Rugby company received praise in Parliament after local MP Mark Pawsey urged the Government to do more to support high tech manufacturing businesses.
Off Grid Energy has a long history of power storage solutions, having pioneered the use of batteries to provide additional power or reduce reliance on mains electricity. The Rugby business was acquired in 2021 by Pramac-Generac, a global energy generation business specialising in energy storage and generation which has secured new jobs and investment at their site at the Stepnell Industrial Park on Lawford Road.
Mark visited Pramac-Generac UK shortly before Christmas in 2022 and saw for himself the work taking place there to create need, highly skilled manufacturing jobs. The business is also innovating in the industry by looking at new ways to deliver on site energy solutions which not only provide more reliable energy, but also can help contribute to the decarbonisation of sectors including the construction, transport and commercial retail.
In his question to Nusrat Ghani MP, the Minister for Industry and Investment Security, Mark highlighted how the investment by Pramac-Generac UK is supporting high-quality advanced manufacturing jobs within Rugby and asked the Minister to visit to see for herself the great work taking place there. Minister Ghani, in her response, said that the Government is investing £1.2 billion in high-value manufacturing centres, to help manufacturers to develop new advanced technologies. The Minister also committed to visiting Rugby to see for herself the innovation taking place at Pramac-Generac UK.
Mark said:
“Off Grid Energy is a really great Rugby business success story. I was very pleased to have met with the team from Pramac-Generac to talk about their aspirations for the future of the business and the important role which energy storage will play in providing clean and efficient energy for the commercial sector and potentially further afield.”
Mark continued:
“Encouraging this kind of innovation and investment is at the heart of the Government’s Industrial Strategy. We have a great heritage both here in Rugby, and across the UK as a whole, of being at the forefront of manufacturing research and it’s vital we continue to support this sector for our future prosperity. I look forward to showing the Minister the work taking place at Pramac-Generac UK and hope she will continue to back British industry.”
Jog Lall, Director & General Manager at Pramac-Generac UK added:
“Over many years, Pramac-Generac has delivered innovative energy technologies to become synonymous with “Powering a Smarter World”, the Company is focused on providing robust solutions for a variety of applications for its growing global customer base.
