With Christmas just nine weeks away, preparations are already beginning for the festive season and Rugby’s MP, Mark Pawsey, is getting into the spirit with his annual Christmas card competition.
As well as being featured on Mark’s Christmas card the winning pupil and their family will be invited for a tour of the Houses of Parliament and join Mark for “Tea on the Terrace.”
Last year’s completion, won by 10 year old Abigail Mair of Cawston Grange Primary School, celebrated the town’s connection to the game of Rugby and the Rugby World Cup.
The winning design will be announced in November and all the entries will be displayed in Rugby Library during December.
The closing date for entries is Friday 11th November 2016. Entries can be submitted to Mark’s constituency office at Albert Buildings, 2 Castle Mews, Rugby, CV21 2XL.
Entries should have a completed entry form, available to download from the bottom of this page. Alternatively, please clearly write the entrants name, age, address, school, parents name and contact details on the reverse of the entry - otherwise Mark may not know who the winner is!
Mark commented:
“With Christmas just around the corner, I have written to all the primary schools in Rugby to invite their pupils to design the image that will decorate my Christmas card to local residents, charities and community groups. With half-term this week, it’s a great opportunity to enter my competition.”
Mark continued:
“Every year the quality of the entries is very high and it is always a challenge to choose a winner. I am looking forward to seeing what festive designs local pupils enter this year.”
