Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has today written to Warwickshire County Council asking for a footpath to be installed on Crick Road between Hillmorton and DIRFT in order to protect local residents who travel to and from work in the area by foot.
The issue has long been one of concern for Mark as well as many local residents and employees at DIRFT.
Mark said: “This has been an issue which has concerned me for some time and I hope that Warwickshire County Council can investigate the potential for a footpath to be installed on the Crick Road between Hillmorton and DIRFT. DIRFT is still growing and many more Rugby residents will soon join the many hundreds already employed in the area so it is essential that the authorities act now to prevent any unnecessary accidents on the road.
“A number of my constituents have recently brought their concerns on this matter to my attention and it was clear when I visited the area that people are walking along the very narrow grass verges on Crick Road very close to passing traffic.
“I would urge people who share my concerns on this matter to contact their local Warwickshire County Councillors and myself to let us know their views.”
