Rugby MP Mark Pawsey is encouraging people to support World Book Night on the 23rd April. World Book Night is a celebration of reading and books which sees passionate volunteers give books in their local communities to share their love of reading.
This year for the first time The Reading Agency (TRA) is looking for volunteers to become Community Book Givers which involves choosing and providing a book you want to give away, choosing the person to give the book to whether it be a friend, family member or complete stranger, and helping someone develop the love of reading that you have. Registration does not close until World Book Night on the 23rd April and for more details please visit http://www.worldbooknight.org/about-us/about-the-reading-agency.
Mark said, “This is a fantastic event and will help many people develop and also pass on a love of books and reading which is so important. I have always been a keen reader and am fully supporting World Book Night. There is no better place to be than Rugby if you are a bookworm as we have a fantastic library in the town centre which is always running great schemes to encourage both adults and children to read. There really is no better time to either develop your own love of books or help someone else discover the joys of reading.”
