Rugby’s MP Mark Pawsey is encouraging business in his constituency to take part in the Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSI), which is a £100m investment opportunity aimed at helping manufacturing companies improve their competitiveness down the supply chain.
Mark said: “Strengthening and rebuilding the UK’s supply chain is an important component of the Government’s industrial strategy and supply chains underpin the competitiveness of our high value manufacturing sectors and create jobs across the country.
“Since 2012, 44 projects have secured a joint public/private investment of almost half a billion pounds, with over 180 organisations, many of them SMEs involved in delivering the benefits of these projects and over 15,000 direct and over 15,000 indirect jobs created or safeguarded.
“I am keen that manufacturing businesses in my constituency of Rugby bid for available funding to support research and development, skills training and capital investment which are all key to providing more jobs and to create financial security for hardworking people.”
