When local MP Mark Pawsey visited The Revel Primary School in Monks Kirby a few weeks ago little did he know that he would meet a young pupil who would provide him with a question to be posed to David Cameron today during Prime Minister’s Questions
The school’s Year 5 & 6 pupils have been learning about Parliament and invited Mark to a Q&A session to grill him on his role as Rugby’s MP. During his visit Mark asked the pupils what they would ask the Prime Minister if they had the chance and one pupil’s question would make it all the way to the Chamber of the House of Commons.
Speaking after his question to the Prime Minister Mark said:
“During my visit to The Revel Primary School I was amazed at how interested the pupils were about my role as Rugby’s MP and the work I do for hardworking local people. When I asked the pupils what they would ask the Prime Minster there were a number of great questions but for me one really stuck out.”
Mark continued:
“One young pupil wanted to know why the Government makes so many laws so it was great to pose that question to the Prime Minister, who was clearly impressed by it, and to ask him what his Government is doing to curb the burden of excessive legislation. It was equally positive to learn that by the time next year’s General Election is upon us this Government will be the first since World War II to leave office with fewer regulations in place then when it came to power.”
