On Wednesday 16th October the Government published its response to the Communities and Local Government Select Committee’s report into the Private Rented Sector. Rugby MP Mark Pawsey is one of 11 members of the Committee and the Government has adopted many of the recommendations they put forward.
Mark said:
“I am very pleased that the Government has embraced many of the recommendations in our private rented sector report. It is vitally important that people who are renting their homes, or who are considering renting, have a full and clear arrangement of what they can expect during their rent and indeed what is expected of them”.
Mark commented:
“Many people here in Rugby are currently living in the private rental market. I am glad I have had the opportunity to lobby Government on their behalf and I welcome the Government’s measures to help people who are renting.”
Mark concluded:
“I know my colleagues and I who sit on the Select Committee will continue to monitor the situation in the private rental market. We need to make sure we see these measures brought into action in order to make it easier for people considering renting a house to know their rights and responsibilities”.
