Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has praised the work of local residents in Coton Park whose neighbourhood plan pre-submission draft is now ready for approval.
Speaking to the Government’s Planning Minister, Nick Boles MP, Mark congratulated local residents who have worked hard on the plan, led by Coton Park resident Jill Simpson-Vince, and labelled the Neighbourhood Plan as a shining example of how a community can come together to improve their lives through neighbourhood planning.
Responding to Mark’s question the Minister recalled his recent visit to Coton Park and stated that the Coton Park Neighbourhood Plan was “a textbook case of how a community can come together to improve their lives through neighbourhood planning.”
Speaking after his question to the Minister in Parliament Mark said:
“I have strongly supported the work of Coton Park residents from the start as they put together their Neighbourhood Plan. It really is a shining example, which others should follow, of how local people can engage with the planning process, empower themselves, and ensure the priorities of their local area are met and protected.
Mark concluded:
“The Minister’s response was very welcome and all those involved in putting together the plan, particularly Jill Simpson-Vince, who has been instrumental in getting it off the ground should be very proud of their efforts.”
