Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has today welcomed the announcement of the new Unemployment figures for November. The figures show continued good news for the town and builds on the fall in Unemployment Rugby has enjoyed since May 2010. Unemployment in Rugby fell by 159 people between October and November of this year, building on the fall of 130 enjoyed in the previous month.
Mark said:
‘I am delighted that unemployment in Rugby has continued to fall. A fall of 159 is one of the biggest in the country and is great news for our town’
Mark continued: ‘The Coalition Government has been in power now for over 18 months and takes the issue of unemployment very seriously. Each job lost is a tragedy for the people involved and their families. We are fortunate that Rugby has seen continued month by month falls in unemployment and this is testament to a positive attitude to jobs, by local businesses and Government agencies alike.”
Mark concluded: ‘I recognise there is still more work to be done, but we must welcome this news, especially at this time of the year.’
