Mark asks the Education Minister to encourage ceremonies as a way of recognising Apprentices achievements
On Monday 29th October Rugby MP Mark Pawsey spoke during questions to the Secretary of State for Education and praised the 50% increase in apprenticeships started in Rugby since 2010. Mark also asked the Education Minister if he agreed that a good way of recognising the accomplishments of the country’s apprentices would be by holding the same kind of ceremonies students get when graduating at University.
Mark said:
“Earlier this year I was delighted to attend the Rugby Apprentice of the Year award which is one way of recognising the achievements of our local apprentices. Another way of recognising their achievements is holding these graduation-style ceremonies.”
Mark continued:
“As a politician I often get invited into people’s homes and on many walls I often see children or grandchildren’s graduation photos. I have felt for some time now that there should be the same style photographs for people completing their apprenticeships”.
Mark concluded:
“So I was delighted by the Minister’s answer to my question that graduation-style ceremonies are already taking place and I look forward in the years to come to going into people’s homes and seeing Apprenticeship graduation framed photos hanging proudly next to University graduation photos”.
