In September Mark Pawsey MP wrote to the Heads of all Primary Schools in his Constituency inviting pupils to design a Christmas card for entry into a competition for his card for 2010.
He received more than 50 entries, and having made the tough decision to choose one of them, he settled on a colourful design by Chloe Robson who is eight years old and attends Henry Hinde Junior School.
Chloe’s prize is a visit to Westminster, where she will be treated to a tour of the Houses of Parliament and ‘Tea on the Terrace’. The card will be printed and sent out to a variety of organisations during December.
Mark said
“I was really impressed with the quantity and quality of the entries I received which made it very difficult to make a decision. I am looking forward to meeting Chloe and congratulating her on her design.”
Mark continued
“I would also like to say well done to the two runners-up in the competition and to all of those who took part.”
The two runners-up were selected as Lauren Underhill who is five and a pupil at Clifton upon Dunsmore Primary School, and Oscard Richards aged 9 of St. James C of E School in Bulkington. They will both be presented with a small prize. Each of the children who entered the competition has been sent a House of Commons pencil for them to use at School.
All of the designs will be on display at Rugby Library from Wednesday 24th November.
