Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has welcomed the news that a new cycle path is to be built connecting Long Lawford to Rugby town centre.
Work on the scheme has already begun but now further funds have become available from Warwickshire County Council and the Government.
Mark said:
“It is great news that this cycle path is to be built. As a cyclist myself I understand the value of the cycle paths we have in Rugby. This path will keep cyclists off Lawford Road which can become very busy which will ensure the safety of students cycling to Avon Valley School from the town centre.”
Mark concluded:
“Rugby is building up a great network of cycle paths which is excellent news for someone like me who likes to make the 6 mile journey into my Rugby office if the weather allows!”
It is anticipated that the cycle path will be fully completed in early 2014.
