Rugby and Bulkington’s MP Mark Pawsey has called for local community groups to apply for the Aviva Community Funding ahead of applications opening on 12 September 2017.
The Aviva Community Fund, established in 2015, has already helped over 800 community projects across the country, including a number of projects in Rugby. Previous winners in the town include Coton Park Resident’s Association who were able to fund a community day, as well as Paddox Primary School, which helped to fund their Outdoor Learning Yurts. These outdoor tents are now used by the school and the wider community.
The Aviva Community Fund 2017 will finance over 500 projects across four different funding levels and four categories, with awards going to communities throughout the UK. Groups interested in applying for funding can visit https://www.aviva.co.uk/good-thinking/community-fund/ in order to get more information on the application process.
Mark commented:
“I’ve had the opportunity to see first-hand the enormous benefit that support from the Aviva Community Fund can bring. It is a great chance to not only get some much needed funding but also to really raise the profile of a community project or event.”
Mark continued:
“One of the great features of the Aviva Community Funding process is that the applications are open to a public vote from across the country, meaning that the right project can really capture the public’s imagination. The projects with the most votes or which particularly impress the judges will then be eligible for one of the grants, which can help to transform a community project.”
Mark concluded:
“I know from meeting with local groups right across the constituency that there are many great groups which would benefit from this funding. The 2017 round of funding opens for submissions on 12 September 2017 and I hope that I will be able to support groups from Rugby and Bulkington in their applications.”
