I am aware that some local residents have received letters from the national NHS to make appointments to receive the Covid vaccine. These relate to attending the closest regional vaccination hub in Birmingham and were sent to over 80s within a 45-mile radius of the centre of Birmingham. This is to speed up the vaccination programme for everyone as we work towards the target of offering the first vaccine dose to all those in the top 4 priority groups by February 15th, 2021.
I have spoken to the local NHS who are operating Rugby’s local vaccination site and working to set up other sites including in Bedworth to serve Bulkington residents. I know, from the work I have done volunteering, that many residents are already being phoned and being invited to attend their local centre.
If you have received a letter from the NHS and can’t get to Birmingham, you don’t need to worry. You will be called by your GP or the local NHS to attend a local site.
I appreciate that this is such a worrying time for everyone. However, the NHS is making great progress in rolling out the largest ever vaccination programme, giving us light at the end of the tunnel.
