Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has invited local residents to nominate their favourite South Asian Rugby restaurants for entry into this years’ Tiffin Cup.
This is the sixth year of the competition. Last year saw a record seventy restaurants nominated from around the country: from the Isle of Barra in Scotland; the Newport coast of Wales and to central London. This time, The Tiffin Cup hopes to build upon the popularity of this mouth-watering competition, encouraging the participation of as many constituencies as possible, to celebrating the diversity of British culture and recognise the importance of South Asian cuisine.
Mark said:
“Rugby has many excellent restaurants serving quality South Asian food. I am sure that will be reflected by the people of Rugby nominating many different venues as their own personal favourites. It would be fantastic if a restaurant from Rugby were to win the competition.”
The Tiffin Cup is awarded every year by the Tiffin Club of MPs, Michael Fabricant MP, Martin Horwood MP and Keith Vaz MP. The aim is to not only applaud the quality and diversity of South Asian food in Britain but also raise a significant amount of money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of ‘World Vision’.
Mark concluded:
“I think we should all be extremely proud of the quality of South Asian restaurants here in Rugby and so I would encourage everyone to nominate their favourite South Asian Rugby restaurant for this national award whilst also raising money for such a worthy charity.”
