Rugby MP helps tackle young driver crashes

Mark Pawsey has attended a seminar in Westminster organised by Brake, a road safety charity to support their campaign “Too Young to Die: tackling young driver crashes”. 

Mark said:

”Earlier this year I put a question to the Transport Minister Philip Hammond following the death of a friend of my son on the A45. I asked him to consider a graduated vehicle licensing system where the exposure of new drivers to the highest risk situations would be reduced”.

Mark added:

“Regrettably graduated vehicle licensing would not have changed the situation in respect of my son’s friend. However young people aged 17-24 are more likely to die in a preventable road crash and I believe steps to improve this should be taken. Brake’s campaign is a step in the right direction”.
