Damian Green MP in Rugby

Damian Green MP, the Shadow Immigration spokesman will be in Rugby tomorrow evening (Friday 5th February). He will be speaking at a Wine Reception being organised by Rugby Conservatives. For more information please email us or phone 01788 579499.

Mr Green has pledged that a Conservative Government will introduce a limit on the number of people allowed to come to the UK to work, as well as other measures to fight illegal immigration.

Following his arrest by the Metropolitan Police in 2008, Mr Green's DNA was taken but he was later successful in reclaiming it. Many innocent people's DNA is still being held on a database and the Conservatives have launched a campaign to stop this happening.

Mark Pawsey, Conservative Parliamentry candidate for Rugby, said "I am delighted that Damian Green MP will be coming to Rugby. The issue of immigration is one that is regularly raised when I meet people on the doorstep and is a matter of concern to many of the people in Rugby constituency."

"I am pleased that we are able to offer an opportunity for people to hear, and ask questions of our spokesman on this important issue. In addition, I know that many people are concerned that the DNA of innocent people is being held by the Government. Damian has first hand experience of the current situation and is leading the Conservative Party's campaign for change."
