Rugby Conservative Association Annual Dinner

On Friday Rugby Conservative Association held it's Annual Dinner and Mark was thrilled to welcome former Government Minister Edwina Currie to Rugby as the Guest of Honour.

The Annual Dinner was once more a great success, and Edwina Currie was an excellent speaker. Having left the House of Commons in 1997 she has pursued a lively career as a writer, journalist and television personality and most recently appeared alongside Top Gear's James May in her home city of Liverpool.

Mark Pawsey, the Parliamentry Candidate for Rugby said: "Edwina was kind enough to make part of her speech 'advice to a candidate & aspiring MP' and I particularly enjoyed learning that I should carefully listen to advice and then "ignore it"! Edwina was most generous in offering a very attractive raffle prize which added to the success of the evening. It's great to receive such help & support."

Mark continued: "It is always good to hear from former Members of Parliament and Edwina was no exception. She delivered an excellent rallying call to the Party about why it is vital that at the General Election we ensure that we can get rid of this Government and have a new, dynamic Conservative Administration ready to deal with the challenges of the coming months and years."
