Mark Pawsey MP wants to see musicians from Rugby “Rock the House” by entering Parliament’s largest creative competition.
The competition, which is now in its fifth year, puts musicians in direct contact with the movers and shakers of the industry giving the best of Rugby’s talent the chance to take centre stage. Judged by the leading lights of the music industry, with prizes ranging from festival slots, studio time and top-notch equipment. The Rock the House competition is a pioneering opportunity to showcase what Rugby has to offer and raise awareness about the importance of Intellectual property to our creative industries and country.
Mark commented:
“It’s great to see Parliament’s most-hotly contested competition return for their fifth year. Rock the House is an excellent opportunity for Rugby to celebrate our local talent and, as all nominations are judged by industry experts, it’s a fantastic chance for local musicians to get their big break.”
Mark continued:
“Rugby, and the West Midlands as a whole, really punches above its weight musically. We have a history of successful bands and a fantastic live music scene in local pubs and at festivals. During the Rugby World Cup, the Fanzone was host to a number of great bands from across musical genres and I know Rugby’s musicians will do well during this contest.”
Rock legend and actor, Alice Cooper said:
“Rock the House is a great project which celebrates the fantastic diversity of the British music scene and gives musicians a vehicle through which to hold their legislators accountable about protecting the music industry’s intellectual property.”
