Local MP Mark Pawsey visited Brownsover Community School this week and was treated to a special performance of the ‘superhaka’ by pupils.
The pupils have been hard at work practicing in anticipation of the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
Speaking after the performance Mark said:
“It was a fantastic performance and the pupils and teachers should be very proud of what they have already achieved in preparation for the Rugby World Cup celebrations: it cannot be an easy thing to co-ordinate!”
Mark continued:
“This is yet another example of how our town is embracing the Rugby World Cup. The excitement really is building and I, like so many other local residents, cannot wait for the tournament to begin.”
Elisa Basnett, Headteacher at Brownsover Community School said:
“As part of our international and cultural development, the children have loved preparing and performing our ‘superhaka’ in celebration of the Rugby World Cup. It has provided a fantastic creative and physical learning experience for all.”
