Local MP Mark Pawsey has welcomed the news that a new £5.5m project to ease congestion around University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) has gone forward for public consultation.
Mark has been in constant contact with the hospital’s management team since becoming Rugby’s MP in 2010 in order to highlight the concerns of his constituents regarding access to the site and was delighted to learn that the scheme is progressing. Work is due to begin next month and the project is expected to take a year to complete.
Mark said:
“Since becoming Rugby’s MP in 2010 I have been contacted by many constituents regarding traffic congestion in and around UHCW. I raised these concerns with the hospital and was aware of the plans to tackle the problem and to improve the traffic system around the hospital to reduce congestion.”
Mark concluded:
“I am sure that those of my constituents who use the hospital will be delighted at the news and I hope that the work can be completed as soon as possible so that this long-standing problem can finally be addressed.”
