Rugby Thornfield IBC have recently been awarded a funding grant from the national funding body Sport England of £33,155, which has allowed them to carry out a number of improvements to their facilities.
Mark said:
“It’s excellent news that Rugby Thornfield IBC have been given such a great opportunity to upgrade their facilities for the local community and their members to take full advantage of. The Club has also been used several times as a national venue, and has produced even a Commonwealth Silver Medallist.”
Mark added:
“The improvements to the Club include new digital scoreboards, a brand-new bowling surface, and exercise machines. The Club also provides coaches for new starters, which I was able to benefit from myself, playing a practice game. Bowls provides moderate exercise which is fantastic for people with mobility problems making the Club a great asset to the community.”
Mark concluded:
“I am delighted that my constituents have a first class indoor bowling green to enjoy. This is a real asset to the local community.”
