Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has welcomed new figures that show that more than 5,000 children have been placed in stable homes in the last year – an increase of 26% on the previous year – and expressed his support for National Adoption Week which runs from the 3rd to the 9th of November.
Since its launch in 1997, National Adoption Week has gone from strength to strength, reaching across the UK to raise awareness of adoption.
Mark said:
“National Adoption Week is a great opportunity to remind people about the backgrounds of the children waiting for adoption and the difference adoption can make to a child’s life.”
Mark continued:
“It is also a chance to celebrate the work and dedication of adopters here in Rugby and Bulkington, and across the country, who are transforming the lives of thousands of children.”
Mark concluded:
“Last month some really positive figures were released showing that adoption figures were up in Warwickshire and that means that more local children here in Rugby and Bulkington are benefiting from the love and support of being part of a family.”
