Local MP Mark Pawsey has once again shown his support for the Hospital of St Cross by donating to The Friends of the Hospital of St Cross Diamond Jubilee Appeal.
The Friends of the Hospital of St Cross formed in 1955 and support Rugby’s local hospital by donating equipment to improve the experience of patients at the hospital.
Mark said:
“I have always fought hard for our local hospital and wanted to show my support for The Friends of St Cross by helping raise money for their Diamond Jubilee Appeal. The charity do such incredible work within our local community by donating £100,000 ever year.”
Mark continued:
“I was delighted to meet with two of the charity’s two hundred volunteers who give up their time to run a help desk to take patients to their appointment locations, run the outpatients department café and assist patients during certain operations and through their recoveries.”
Mark concluded:
“I was delighted to do bit to help The Friends of St Cross reach their £60,000 target in order that they may relocate the hospital’s phlebotomy service. The Appeal has already raised over £36,000 and I hope many more local residents will donate and help the charity reach its target.”
