Local MP Mark Pawsey visited Britvic’s Rugby factory this week and met with a number of their new apprentices. Britvic Soft Drinks are responsible for manufacturing iconic brands here in Rugby, such as the Tango and Pepsi Cola ranges of soft drinks.
Britvic Soft Drinks’ apprenticeship scheme has been running successfully for a number of years, giving school leavers a valuable opportunity to specialise in a trade.
After the event, Mark said:
“It was a pleasure to meet these enthusiastic young apprentices. I was particularly keen to hear of their experiences on the Britvic apprenticeship scheme and the valuable skills they are learning in this role.”
Mark continued:
“By focusing on apprenticeships and vocational training, the Government is ensuring that young people have a range of choices to pursue the future that they want. I am proud that under the Conservatives, we introduced 2.3 million new apprenticeships in the last Parliament and we will go further this Parliament, delivering over 3 million new apprenticeships by 2020.”
Mark concluded:
“Providing our young people with the best start to get on in life and have a rewarding career is an area close to my heart. Apprenticeships give young people the opportunity to learn a valuable skill while earning at the same time. Apprentices can also raise the productivity of the businesses they join, leading to growth right across the industry. I have always been proud to support them and I am very pleased to see Britvic offering such a great opportunity for local young people.”
