Local MP Mark Pawsey last week visited the Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston, Rugby. Mark had previously met Alison & Steve Dyke, the directors of Nature Trails at the National Day Nurseries Parliamentary Reception, and following this he was invited to visit Nature Trails to see the work done by the staff there. Early Years learning plays a significant role in developing a child’s potential and has been an area the Coalition Government has sought to make progress on through fairer funding for pre-school places and the voluntary sector.

“I was very happy to visit and meet the staff of the Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston. The work being done by Alison Dyke and her staff is important as making sure that our children have the best possible start in life should be one of our top priorities. Early Years Education provides a great opportunity to ensure that every child is able to reach their full potential and it’s thanks to nurseries like Nature Trails that this is possible.”
Steve Dyke, director of Nature Trails Limited said:
“As highlighted by last month’s House of Lords report “Affordable Childcare”, there are many issues currently facing private nursery providers in delivering high quality childcare. It is great to see local MPs like Mark Pawsey showing an interest and concern for the well-being of the sector.”
Mark concluded:
“The visit also allowed me to continue to discuss with Alison and her staff the future of funding and the potential of Early Years Education through the Private Voluntary and Independent Sectors. I believe that the work done by this Government will help to ensure that this vital area for the future and thanks to our long-term economic plan we will be able to maintain a strong education sector. Under the Coalition Government we have ensured that 15 hours of free childcare is available for 3 & 4 year olds and thanks to the Pupil Premium we have introduced, thousands of children have been helped over the last five years.”
