Following the intervention of local MP Mark Pawsey the footpaths between Tamar Road and Weston Lane and the alleyway between Weston Lane into Hemsworth Drive in Bulkington have been cleared of litter and substantial undergrowth.
The poor condition of the footpaths and alleyways was drawn to Mark’s attention by Bulkington resident Brenda Paul who met with him last week to see the results of the recent maintenance work carried out by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
The footway is now clear so local residents, like Mrs Paul, who have difficulty walking can navigate the footways easily.
After the meeting Mark said:
“Mrs Paul contacted my office concerned with the overgrowth, dog mess and litter in two alleyways in Bulkington (Weston Lane to Tamar Road and Weston Lane to Hemsworth Drive). When Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council inspected the footways themselves they agreed the condition of the footways was unacceptable.”
Mark continued:
“When I visited Mrs Paul I was very happy to see Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council had indeed completely cleared the footways so local residents like Mrs Paul can easily use the footpaths to visit the Bulkington Recreational Field and the Bulkington Village Centre.”
Mark concluded:
“I am very pleased that Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council have now cleared the alleyways and aim to maintain the footways to this excellent standard.”
