Mark Pawsey, MP for Rugby and Bulkington welcomed the announcement by Rugby Borough Council that it has once again been able to increase the communities to nearly £80,000 following the annual budget. The Conservative led council has once again made significant investments in the Rugby area, including through the communities and charitable grants.
Mark said: "I think it's important to ensure that we support the community groups that give so much to Rugby and it's excellent that the Council has found the resources to once again increase the grant we can offer. Given the economic climate, we all know that budgets have been tight, but I think it's absolutely right that Rugby Borough Council has found the funds to properly support voluntary and community groups."
Applications for community grants must be made before 12 noon on Monday 13 April.
