Last Friday, Rugby and Bulkington MP Mark Pawsey visited the home of Rugby resident Mrs Christiane Townsend to observe the award-winning care provided to her by Home Instead Senior Care Rugby’s CAREGivers.
Mark was joined on the visit by Sarah Slater, Owner and Managing Director of Home Instead Senior Care Rugby, who along with Mrs Townsend’s CAREGiver demonstrated the company’s personalised in-home care services.
Home Instead Senior Care recently received the ‘Queen’s Award for Innovation’ in recognition of their quality care. Home Instead received the Innovation Award for introducing a new home-based social care model, which addresses a growing demand from an increasing elderly population. The new model incorporates a focus on the social wellbeing of the receiver of care.
After the visit, Mark said:
“The Queen's Award is hugely prestigious and recognises the unique and bespoke model Home Instead use to deliver quality care in the home for older people. Home Instead Rugby use a relationship-led approach, which carefully matches CAREGivers and clients according to common hobbies and interests, to ensure that they can build long lasting relationships. “
Mark continued:
“As people age and begin to require care the ability to receive that care whilst remaining in their own home is of huge importance. Obviously in-home care is not suitable for everyone but I was very pleased to meet Mrs Townsend and to learn first-hand of the value she places on the home help and companionship services she receives which have enabled her to maintain her independence in an environment she is comfortable in.”
Speaking after the visit, Sarah Slater, Owner of Home Instead Senior Care Rugby, added:
“We were delighted to welcome Mark Pawsey MP to Home Instead Senior Care, he was really interested in the work we do, and enjoyed meeting our wonderful clients and their exceptional CAREGivers.
To be able to continue living in your own home is so important and our CAREGivers help older people to do just that, by providing person-centred care and companionship. Because our calls are a minimum of one hour we have time to care and to chat with our clients, we are so proud of everyone in our team they all genuinely make a difference every day!”
