Local MP Mark Pawsey joined Rugby Mayor Cllr Sall Bragg, residents, relatives, staff and members of the public at Anya Court last Friday to celebrate National Care Home Open Day.
In celebration of the day Anya Court opened its doors to the public. This year’s theme was ‘Celebration’ with the care home celebrating the lives of its residents as well as marking Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Speaking during the visit Mark said:
“Care Home Open Day is great way for people to learn more about care homes. Many people have fears about residential care homes which are not based on experience. Days like this help demystify care and allay those fears.”
Mark continued:
“Rugby has many fantastic care homes, and an army of dedicated carers, and this annual event is a real opportunity for people to see first-hand what our care homes have to offer. I would like to thank all of the residents, and staff, at Anya Court for being so welcoming and showing me their wonderful home.”
Care Home Open Day has proven to be a great success over recent years and the event is growing year-on-year with more care homes signing up to take part.
