Rugby & Bulkington MP Mark Pawsey got behind the bar of the Black Horse at Bilton to pull one of the first pints celebrating the pub reopening its doors to the public.
The MP made the visit to the pub situated on the Green in Bilton following a joint investment of over £50,000 from licensees Craig and Jennifer Leggett, and Punch Taverns, one of the UK’s leading pub companies.
Mark was given a tour of the new look premises by Craig and Jennifer as well as meeting local Punch Taverns personnel who were involved in the planning and execution of the refurbishment.
The refurbishment at the Blackhorse saw developments of the lounge and bar area as well as major changes to the kitchen and external decorations with new signage.
Mark Pawsey MP said: “I was delighted to be able to come and re-open the Black Horse in Bilton. The pub looks fantastic with a great feel.
“Pubs are important to their communities, so the investment that Craig, Jennifer and Punch Taverns have made into the Black Horse shows a commitment to that community. I wish the new team the best of luck.”
Craig was also delighted with how the visit went: “Having our local MP come down to the Black Horse was excellent and his comments were great. He really liked the new look.
Since re-opening the feedback has been excellent and we have had a brilliant Christmas. We will now build on that for 2015 and we are really looking forward to the year ahead.”
Punch Taverns New Business Development Manager, Stuart Burley, said: “Firstly, I would like to thank Mark Pawsey MP for taking some time to come and visit the Black Horse.
“The pub sets the highest standards across all areas of the business and I’m sure that Craig and Jennifer will have the full support of the locals. They have some great plans which means the pub will remain as one of the area’s leading outlets.”
