Changes are presently being made to the A5 to the north of Rugby but Mark has called on Transport Minister John Hayes MP to look to improve the section of the A5 which runs from the M69 to junction 18 of the M1 where significant housing and commercial development is taking place.
Speaking after the debate Mark said:
“I was grateful to my colleague Marcus Jones MP for calling this important debate and wanted to ensure that the Minister was aware of the development taking place here in Rugby and the need to improve the local stretch of the A5.”
Mark continued:
“The area around the section of the A5 between the M69 and junction 18 of the M1 near Rugby will soon experience significant commercial and housing development so it is vital that we ensure that the road is safe for motorists and able to deal with any increase in traffic flow.”
Mark concluded:
“There are improvements taking place on the A5 to the north of Rugby but I want to ensure that the Government is aware of the need to ensure the stretch of the road in Rugby is improved. I hope that the Minister will look into Rugby’s needs further and that I am glad that I was able to bring this issue to his attention.”
