Age UK Warwickshire is offering the opportunity for men with a keen interest in gardening or DIY within the Rugby area, to all join forces and enjoy the benefits of using and sharing these skills whilst socialising with the Charity. Men in Sheds is a new project that will be based at the Claremont Centre in Rugby.
Kathy Young, Centre Co-ordinator for the Claremont said “I am very excited about this project as it gives gentlemen a chance to get together, use and share their skills on various projects as a group, as well as the chance to socialise with each other.”
To really give this project a fighting chance, Age UK Warwickshire is appealing to the public in and around Rugby to drop off donations such as shed, metal and woodwork equipment to properly equip the project.
Mark Pawsey, MP for Rugby & Bulkington said “"This is such a great initiative so I would urge anyone who is able to donate equipment to get in touch with Age UK Warwickshire. It can sometimes be difficult for older gentlemen to socialise, so this is a great way for them not only to do so but to share and learn new skills in a friendly and fun environment."
