Rugby MP Mark Pawsey was at Butlin Road this weekend to watch Rugby Town’s victory over Goole Athletic.
Goals either side of half time gave Rugby Town a well-deserved win and continues their recent impressive run of form.
Mark was invited to watch the match by the club director Mike Yeats and was keen to take up the offer to show his support for the team as they push for a promotion play-off spot in the Evo Stick League First Division South.
Speaking after the match Mark said:
“I always enjoy my visits to Butlin Road and it was great to see the team secure a two nil win to keep their recent good run going.”
Mark commented:
“We have so many fantastic local sports teams in Rugby and I am always keen to show them my support. Rugby Town are doing incredibly well at the moment and despite a little blip last year the team have really pulled together in recent months. I will be cheering them on for the remainder of the season and hope they can secure a play-off place.”
Mark concluded:
“Despite the cold, often very wet, weather on the day the fans were in good spirits and I hope to join them again soon in the stands.”
