Broadband Rugby

As part of the Conservative Party's national Digital Britain Campaign, I want to see a better, faster internet network here in Rugby. This campaign will be a starting point from which we in Rugby can see the benefits of a broadband economy.

We all realise in this day and age, the internet is an invaluable tool for keeping in touch, making business transactions, buying and accessing the latest news, information and headlines. It is important for both businesses and individuals in Rugby to have access to the best possible resources in order to help us develop new economic growth.

This is a relevant issue for lots of people every day and I know at first hand the frustration and problems that people face as a consequence of poor internet access. As a country, it is important that we are at the sharp end of technological initiatives and these will be essential to take us out of recession and on to new economic growth.

The aim of our campaign is to build up a picture of the internet speed in and around Rugby, with a view to ensuring that resources are targeted to provide a consistently good service across the constituency.

There are two links at the bottom of this page. The first will take you to a website which will allow you to find out what speed your internet connection is.  It will do this by telling you your Download speed (the speed at which you recieve information from the internet) and your Upload speed (the speed at which you can send information to the internet.) The website is very simple, all you have to do is click the "Begin Test" button at the top and within a few seconds it will have told you what your Upload and Download Speeds are - it is very important that you make a quick note of these numbers for the survey!  The second link at the bottom of the page will take you to a short and simple survey  you a few short questions about your internet service. I will welcome the help and support of the people of Rugby by taking part in our survey in ensuring that this aspiration can become a reality.
